On Friday April 12th at the Groton Inn, the Destination Groton Committee and the Groton Business Association hosted the inaugural Groton Business Forum with the theme of: Creating Business Opportunities for Economic Growth. Close to 100 attendees joined in for an informative discussion focused on boosting Groton’s business growth from increased tourism and visitation driven by the arrival of Groton Hill Music Center, its status as a premiere wedding, arts, cultural and historic destination, its many outdoor activities and its national reputation for hosting two prestigious boarding schools. In two breakout panel discussions, one focused on Business and one focused on Town Government, speakers included:

Additionally, there was a Q&A session “Envisioning the Future: Past and Present’ with Greg Sheldon, Chair, Destination Groton Committee and W. Timothy Hess, Architect and former Groton Planning Board member, who was a key contributor to the development of the Town Center Overlay District Design Guidelines.
